I got a wild hair and decided I needed to devote my whole artistic self to one drawing. It started out as a so-so sketch, a pretty neat final copy, to this pretty boss inkwash final. I have to say, I am happy with this.
This is about 99% nib/brush and ink. The white parts, like the lace on the girl on the right and the pearls on the left, were done with a white gel pen.
I was actually thinking of you as I was doing this.. I remembered how it was your gift that really taught me how to ink in the first place! Without that letter and supplies, I wouldn't have had such an interest!

I say this pretty much every time I comment on your drawings, but jeeezus, you just get so much better with every submission.
I'm really into the detailed repetition, of the patterns in the hair and clothes. Great control and a nice clear composition. The lady standing to the right side of the drawing has a somewhat concerned expression on her face, just wondering what your story is there?
Thanks so much, James! I really surprised myself, too. I think I'm going to have to do some more of this.
Well, If you notice, the girl on the left has a slight haughty look, too, and the girl in the middle is all, "ho ho ho, look at me. lala" It's just something small, but I wanted the sisters to be sort of at odds with each other. Lefty is rather jealous for not being first in line for the crown and righty is just one of those Disney princesses, one who doesn't want to be royalty anymore. Of course. It's something small, I just didn't want to make them all nor did I want them to just be smiling idly. I figured this way, people will either make up their own story or at least ask me about it!
I'm glad you like the dog, though. He almost didn't make it into the final picture; he was a last-minute addition.

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
